Weekly Wrap Up

Another week has come and gone...we were very busy with Kids Kan for the Memphis Food Bank...we should get a total next week on the amount of food collected for those in our area in need.

We delved into several topics and questions....like today the question was 22% of men will do this everyday while getting ready for work....what is it? The answer......leave a glob of toothpaste in the sink! This is simply one reason why I contend that having a bathroom with double sinks can save a marriage.

Vacation and more.....

Hi, it's Karen Perrin. I will be off work this week! Got some much needed vacation to use. Just a reminder that whatever Ron says about me, or what I am supposedly doing, it is probably NOT true....unless it's a good thing! :)

I am writing this on Friday afternoon, 2/15 while Jill Bucco is interviewing singer/ songwriter Gavin DeGraw by phone in the control room. She will be sitting in on the morning show while I am out. Not sure when she will air this interview, but let me be the first to share with the world that JILL LOVES GAVIN!! Oh my gosh, this interview is the biggest love fest I have ever heard. He is going to want to call her everyday! If she talks to him much longer I am afraid they are going to be engaged!!! I hope that they air it this week so you can hear for yourself! Then you'll know why she might just leave Memphis to be with him and travel the country!! Jill's love aside, I am sure you will hear his new single on FM 100 quite often, it's a good song. Here is his picture!!!

Okay, I just heard she will air the interview just after 2:00 today (2/15) listen for yourself.

Today we were talking about Valentine movies......

Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights............

So while talk of the writers strike in Hollywood indicates there could soon be a resolution, one must remember we could still be waiting months for many of our favorite TV shows to return. That is why I want to remind you about one of THE BEST SHOWS ON TV....still featuring all new shows. That show is the critically acclaimed, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. It can be sad, funny controversial, familiar, touching, surprising and so many other descriptive words! It is one of the most well written shows on TV today. Right now, many of you are thinking, well I don't like football.....you don't have to. It's a great show that could revolve around most anything! Kyle Chandler (as seen in this "oh so hot" photo!) is fabulous as are all the actors in this show! Give it a chance so those of us that already watch can get a few more seasons out of this show.

To blog or not to blog.......

What to blog about today....hmm.....if you've looked at Ron's pictures on his blog I don't think I can top that. In fact, he has already blogged 3 times today....can we say blogging addiction? He has a problem, Ron is certainly an all or nothing kind of guy.

Weekend Highlights

Well, the Super Bowl is now a memory, one we will talk about for some time. The hype, the commercials, and the Giants. What a defense! I enjoyed watching Peyton Manning in some skybox cheering his brother on at the game. Above, you'll see a photo from Giant superfan Ed Bartusiak's house.....needless to say this is a great week for him!!!!

It was Groundhog's Day Saturday.....did the groundhog see his shadow? Was this the best kept secret all weekend or what? Yes, he saw it...that means 6 more weeks of winter.

The University of Memphis Tigers beat UTEP on Saturday and the Grizz played at home too.....of course without now LA Laker Pau Gasol. And with so many fans driving too and from the FedEx Forum and the Superbowl yesterday, someone I guess at TDOT decided there needed to be a sign on
I-240 reminding folks to be safe. So in the spirit of sports, I saw this big orange flashing sign on the side of the expressway......

the first part read "FANS DON'T LET FANS..........."

but the second said only this "DRIVE DRUNK"

Hopefully most people saw BOTH parts of the message!! :)
