a break from the blog wars

Well, Ron and Brett continue to battle it out on the blog front, so I thought I'd offer a break to all you blog readers...some eye candy if you will! Here are 3 of my favorite actors.....at least today!

First, Paul Walker...everytime I turn around the movie Eight Below is on TV, good movie...and I'm not even a dog person...perhaps it is because Paul is so nice to look at!

Next up on my nice to look at list, Marky Mark...he's got a new movie out...haven't seen it...don't need to....just like to look at him!

and finally, John Cusack, he has a new movie coming out soon, doesn't even matter to me if it is good or not.....Say Anything means he is good forever!

Yes, now that I can post pictures, I have one from a few weeks ago. I saw Puddle of Mudd when they came with Korn to Mud Island. If you look at the above picture, I am on the left, in the shadow of the guy in the band with his arm up!!! I know, you about need a magnifying glass to know I am in the photo, but who cares....all I see is me and Puddle of Mudd!! :)

So, I'll simply leave you with this joke my son told this morning on Worst Joke Wednesday....

rain

Rain...we finally got some yesterday....much needed in the Memphis area. Now with the warm weather, yards will probably need one more mowing before the year is done.

What do do this week in Memphis, the Pissarro exhibition is now open at the Brooks Museum. If you have kids you may want to go ahead and get your tickets for Zoo Boo at the Memphis Zoo, it's this Friday and Saturday Night as well as next weekend too. Click on the zoo link back on our home page for more details!

Karen's Deep Thought for the Day.......you don't ever believe people when they say kids grow up so fast....
that is until one day you turn around and yours are in elementary school and you feel like they were born just yesterday!!

Karen's Advice for the New Parent or Parent-To-Be.....
WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN!
Steve would tell me that all the time. He was right. All the cute, sassy, silly memorable things that your kids do and say while they are young that you THINK you will remember forever....you won't unless you WRITE IT DOWN!!!!

what was and what shall be

Had a great weekend, met many great people in Collierville at the Community Appreciation Day at First Tennessee Bank. It was a big party in the parking lot, complete with inflatable slide, face painting, lots of free prizes and more!

My weekend was full of soccer, how about yours? If you have kids too, the answer is probably yes....soccer or gymnastics or the activity du jour.

Tomorrow, 10/16, Ron will be out at the all new Whole Hog Cafe on Germantown Parkway from 4 to 6pm....lots of gift certificates will be there to be won, why don't you get out there and see if you can be one of the lucky ones.

Special guest Tuesday on the Karen and Ron show :) Dave Berry!

See Ron's Blog

Hi, today am using a homework pass, a "get out of jail free" card you might say, I'm taking the day off of blogging....instead of writing my own blog, I am just going to refer you to Ron's. :)

Wednesday Thoughts

Fall break is over, kids (in the county schools at least) get back to business today.....had to remember to make lunch last night for the boys. Fall weather finally hits today....nice and cool a high of only 82. You can celebrate with Ron out at the Corn Maze at the Agricenter, family fun tonight, then it's haunted on the weekends. Our family weekend is sure to be busy with soccer and fall baseball. Now my 7 year old wants to do Karate...how many activities can one kid do? I even broke my "one sport a semester" rule when I let him do baseball AND soccer. I told him we'd have to wait to add Karate to the mix.

Still thinking of how good Puddle of Mudd was this weekend. Love them!

Have a great Wednesday,

K

Fall Break

Fall break begins today for many here in the mid-south. Hope you get to go somewhere fun if you get to travel in the next few days.

Ron has a big guy golf trip this weekend...I'm sure that he will have plenty of stories for us on Monday.

Plus Monday, I have a question about re gifting....is it wrong for someone to blatantly re gift something right in front of your face??? We'll discuss, I wonder what Ron's thoughts are on this?

Have a great weekend,

K

October rolls on.....

A star studded show today.....Kristen Alfonso (Hope, on Days of Our Lives), Johnny Knoxville's buddy Steve-O and Tony Basil who did "Hey Mickey"! Expect more tomorrow as we host the couple about to get married on The Today Show and at least one of the stars from Friday Night Lights.

Who is happier...men or women......while there were votes for both, it seems most think men are happier. Why? Life is easier for them, they are more relaxed, their attention spans are so short.....just a few of the theories. Ron is happiest when he is playing golf.

Tomorrow night, fun party in midtown at the Brooks Museum First Wednesday Party.....this month we celebrate Scotland!

PS...I DVR'd Heroes last night and it cut off before the show was over!!!! How can this happen....it makes me CRAZY!!! Do they think I have so much recording space that I can always record the show after????? NO is the answer. Luckily my brother watches the show too and I was able to call him late last night and find out what I missed.

Thanks for letting me vent.....I feel better now!!

Have a great day,

K

Hope Brady Memphis bound!

Attention Days of Our Lives fans.....Kristin Alfonso who plays Hope Brady on DOOL will be at the Mistletoe Merchants show this weekend at the Agricenter. Not only does she act, she designs jewelry, find out more on her website http://www.hopefaithmiracles.com/. I already love Days like so many of you do as well, so it's our chance to see her live. For more info on the Mistletoe Merchants show, go to www.midsouthmediagroup.com/tradeshow/mm/mistletoe.php

I can't wait to get busy and get shopping......you can hear Kristin on our morning show tomorrow....did you know she is the mother of 3 boys, 17, 14 and 5 years old!! WOW! Does she even age? It doesn't look like it on the show that's for sure.

I think Ron loves her so much he'd like to marry her!

Have a great day,

K
