about that colon...and cologne

Well, today is the day, Ron gets a colonoscopy! That word is not easy to spell and not a spell check kind of word....so I hope I got it right!

Here is a picture of him from yesterday having Ginger Ale, since he could eat nothing! What a drag. Yes, I know the photo is blurry, probably just like Ron's vision is right about now as his sedative is wearing off. All the details on the procedure to come tomorrow....I can't wait I don't know about you! :)

PS....I've known Ron over 15 years now and worked on the morning show with him for 13 1/2 years, and today for the first time ever.....he wore cologne to work. Funny, Ron is quick to judge others for wearing too much fragrance, but let me tell you he is a major offender! I could barely breathe today!

My kids can't quit talking about Spongebob and the big marathon and special Atlantis episode on today. We talked to Tom Kenny the voice of Spongebob. He was cool, a nice and funny guy. Yesterday we first told you about the stunning and disturbing incident on Friday that involved Ron Olson. We were doing outdoor work at an area non-profit. It was Make A Difference Day for our company, on this day Ron made a difference alright.....for many it was an uncomfortable moment that may have changed lives......and not for the better.

Ron's pants ripped while he was planting pansies (yes, I know there is a joke there somewhere) then much to our dismay as he was checking out the tear, we came to the shocking revelation.....Ron was not wearing underwear......he was commando...."underwearless" if you will!!!

I'm afraid that some of those at the place we were visiting will never be the same. I know on the picture above, the rip seems small, perhaps even harmless..... however I am convinced by the time I arrived it had grown. Because the initial shock I experienced that day made me feel as thought it was a 3 foot rip!! As a I recover from the trauma of seeing Ron's....you know.....I pause to remember, that which doesn't make you throw up can only make you stronger. :)

tonight's dark drive home

Spring forward, Fall back.....of course, yesterday the "fall back" day. Hope you are adjusting...always hard on the kids as they lose outside daylight time after school. Some folks get a bit depressed this time of year, maybe you should just get up with us and enjoy the early hours of sun. Not only will the sun help, we will do our best to keep you entertained and informed to keep your mind off the fact it will be dark on your drive home.

Serious thought for the day: The program Change Your Clock, Change your Battery reminds change those batteries in your smoke alarm!! They say, having a working smoke detector in your home doubles the chance of surviving a house fire.

Big winner at our Pick Your Purse promotion on Saturday, Kayla from Horn Lake....she got in the contest one afternoon with Lance (by the way, Lance is now her favorite!) then won a Lander's Ford!! She had her choice of a Fusion, F-150, or Mustang. She opted for the Mustang!! She was (and still is) very excited.

halloween candy hangover

Wow!!! What a fun trick or treating night for the kids...our yard decorations were up and the kids were out getting LOTS of candy! Then we capped off the night with a party at our neighbors house. I have a junk food hangover...too much candy, rice krispie treats, rotel dip (YUM!), pizza, real cola and brownies!! It was a holiday for goodness sake, but feeling a bit like I over did it.....back to water and salad today! :)

I hope you all had a great Halloween too, now comes the battle with the kids as we attempt to ration the candy so the kids aren't bouncing off the walls for the rest of the week.

Good luck if you are trying to stay away from the candy bowl at work...more than one person is sure to have plenty on their desks today. Oh, the diet temptation this time of year.
